I have some work to do on my truck and I can forsee myself having to do some cutting and grinding in some pretty tight places. I am going to need a rotary tool. I would like some opinions on which tool is the best. The two that I know about are Dremmel and Proxxon, anyone know anything good or bad about these rotary tools?

hi there,

regarding Dremel vs Proxxon a general 'rule of thumb' is if you're looking for precision (eg model makers, technicians, jewellers etc) lean towards Proxxon - the machines run at lower speed and tend to offer less vibration.

For more aggressive tasks (cutting, grinding, stock removal etc) move towards the Dremel - higher speeds/bigger motors are available.

how do I know? I manage a Tool Shop and sell both brands by the bucket load. both are brand leaders supported by reputable long standing comp[anies.

Hope this helps

I don't know about "Proxxon", but I love my Dremel....

Don't get the rechargable one though. Unless you're doing little jobs.
