this can eirther be 2+2=4 or 2+2=22 because if you take the + out then you have 22

you should write this down for him so he understands
2 add 2 = 4
2 + 2 = 4
+ = add
2 and 2 = 22
if he dont understand that then he needs to go back to school

just show him that 2+2=4
26-4=22
10+12=22
17+5=22

Don't think he's dumb.. Explane him the correct answer by giving him a simple example.
Take 2 apples (Or any 2 things), and show him that if add 2 more apples you get 4 apples!
If he still insists, then...............
