Check engine light comes up?

toyota tercel 1995 120 K miles

i changed oil and checked all fluids when i check the transimmition fluid while putting the probe back it stuck so i have to push it and it went it

now engines lights comes up

what should i do

is it dangerous, can i drive for one week (300 miles )as i have exams this week and dont have time to go to workshop

I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOUR GET YOU VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED TO FIND OUT JUST WHAT THE PROBLEM IS FIRST SO THEN YOU WILL HAVE SOME IDEA WHAT IS WRONG AS WELL AS WHAT TO EXPECT.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR ANY CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE PERSONAL SERVICE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE.

If YOU changed the oil and filter and didn''t prefill the oil filter, the engine may have triggered a code in the computer because the oil pressure didn't come up soon enough as the oil filter was dry and had to fill up before your engine oil pressure registered.

Simply disconnect the battery negative cable for a couple minutes to clear the code.

If the light comes back on, you may have knocked a vacuum line loose on the engine.

take car to autozone, they will read the code for FREE, and let you know whats wrong and what you need to do...might be just a loose gas cap to many other things
BTW it's probably safe to drive, but you could have rought running car and might die on you

auto zone will check it out and tell you why your light is on could be nothing bad but then again it could be so have it check out it only take a few minutes

Air filter/ transmision fluid? mabye tranny sreens need looking at/ check fuses/ check belts cracked? tight... check PVC? check vacuum lines/ etc.
