Portugal is a lovely place with great beaches. The food is fabulous especially the fish. Having said that, apart from the beaches I find Spain to be more beautiful and historical and certainly much cheaper. I live in Spain not far from Portugal and do visit there occasionally. If you are from the UK or anywhere else in Europe, you will love Portugal.

Great Place.
I find that Portugal is friendly and affordable. It is also historic, full of places to visit and has some nice places to relax, like Porto.

If you're going try Obidos, Evora, Coimbra, Lisbon, Porto, Alentejo province (specially the sea shore)
