On the top i have an icon.. I dont know what the icon is and i just want to make sure it doesnt mean im online.
the icon is a circle with like a cross in it.

help me please.

on my rumor, there are icons on the top of the screen.
one is like a circle with a cross in it.

That symbol just means that your phone GPS chip is ON and working. It does not cost anything, or use minutes on your plan.

If you go on-line through the phone, it can use the GPS coordinates to help you narrow any web searches to places near you. For example, if you go on-line to look for movie theaters, it will only show those with in a few miles of your GPS coordinates. It ignores any that you wouldn't need because they are too far away.

(Going on-line Can cause extra charges-- If you have "vision" plan you don't need to worry about Internet charges at all, though.)

You can turn OFF the GPS chip. Look in the SETTINGS menu, and select "location"

Please be more descriptive. An icon on the top of what? And it you to make sure it doesn't mean your online on what?

Also, what does this have to do with an LG rumor by Sprint?

It means that your location is either on or off, the location is whether or not 911 emergency services can view your location if you would need to call 911.
