No, President Bush will NOT get any where near the 50% approval level before his term ends.

I don't think so. Liberals are upset with him because of Iraq and his policies (why do we not have money for a health care bill but we have billions to spend on iraq - and whatever happened to bin laden anyway?). Many conservatives because of his stance on immigration, the debt, and the bloating of the government on his watch.

To be honest, when I see him I feel kind of sorry for him. He used to have this kind of swagger but now he just looks like he wants to say whatever he has to say and get out of the spotlight. He seems so ashamed whenever I see him. The presidency has just torn him up.

I'm not a big fan of Bush, I don't think he was qualified to be president and I believe that what we are seeing now is a mismanagement of our country. We went from a surplus to horrific debt, we are in a quagmire of a war, Katrina, scandal after scandal (attorney general, etc.) make me feel this way. On a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the highest, I'd give him a 3. But I do feel that some of the criticism is unjustified. I think it is sad that everything he says is picked apart for grammatical errors, that his faith is attacked, and that he is continually being painted as someone who has the IQ of an ant. The personal attacks on him (just like the attacks on Clinton) are often just plain cruel.

My guess is that while a lot of people will be glad to see Bush go, the person who will be happiest, is Bush himself.

Possibly.

I think its safe to say that the approval rating and legacy of Bush is going to hinge on Iraq. If Iraq gets substantially better, maybe we'll see a spike. If we stay at the juncture we're at right now, or if progress isn't made fast enough, then his numbers probably aren't going to budge.

I think this is true for the rest of his term, AND for the long term of how history will judge the Bush presidency.

thats almost laughable that you would use a rating over four times that of the congress you elected as a slam against bush. this is DEFINITELY a new low with the liberals. the point here is totally moot as popularity and correctness often dont coincide. there is no answer to your question other than it truly doesnt matter.

If they do a poll and ask....

Who has screwed up the world the most?

I think Bush could easily get 50%!

There is absolutely no way he will even get back to 40% approval.

He has 7 years of incompetency, everyone sees that except the blind Neocons.

Wishful thinking, but there is an old saying that comes to mind that my mother use to tell me, when I got in trouble, which is....You made your bed, now you have to lay in it. Well Bush is stuck with people hating his ignorant a** and he only has himself and his "buddies" to blame.
