what to do ??? i'm not really into the holidays and now i'm invoved with a man who i'm planning on marrying and he's very much into the family thing and holidays. we both have children mine are older 18 and 10. he has a 4 yr old. i feel obligated to fake it to act like i want to be apart of it when i really don't. I'm more of the quite holiday type. my kids and i know how to relax and enjoy the day off. his child is a bit hyper and needs entertainment. (drives my children and me crazy) so i have now oppted to work my job for all the holidays so i don't have to be bothered. or how do i get him to see it's a time reflect on the day and the meaning and not a lot of noise and hoopla. what do you think.

Quit being selfish. Just because YOU are not into it doesn't mean you have to force your ways on them. I bet your own children would LOVE to have a real holiday instead of having a Mother who is gloom and doom on these fun days. As for your boyfriend's child......if you have to fake it being nice to this kid you better find someone else to marry. I can see problems already for you caused by your lack of compassion. Come on lady. Get into the holidays. Don't be a Grinch.

DSounds kinda of selfish to me!! Holidays are for the kids, just because yur kids r older and more in line to your way of thinking, dosen't really mean they agree with it, and for his kids, make it a blast for them, quit raining on everyones paraade!!!
