you know that sound that all cars make when u try 2 turn it over & its allready on what would cause that sound everytime u try 2 turn it on.

The starter solenoid could be bad, the gear on the end of the starter could have a broken tooth, or the flywheel may have broken teeth...or the starter may just need shimming. It's always been the flywheel for me because that's the most expensive, and god hates me.

It is the starter that is the problem.

Possibly the flywheel also - damaged teeth.

There is a shim kit (very cheap) that is used to get the starter at the correct potition to bump the flywheel - and start the car.

Yours is not tracking correctly, and thats the sound you hear.

The burrs on the teeth of the flywheel are preventing the solenoid meshing the starter gear with the fly wheel you need to have the fly wheel replaced or filed ~~

The electric starter motor has a gear that is supposed to get out of the road when the motor is going. It aint.

If the car is already on you are over stessing the starter. If it is off and does that when you try to turn it on, your starter is going.

the starter has gears that mesh with the teeth on engine . allowing it to start are gone eighther on the starter it self or on the engine gears
