OK, so i have the disc that comes w/ my printer which let me install the drivers for my hardware. i just reformatted my pc w/ the printer's USB cable inserted to one of USB ports(if this info will help you in solving my problem) so i have to install it again. unfortunately, Brother MFL Pro Suite Installation didn't let me continue installing the device. the installation says that i must plug in the USB cable(w/c is recognized by my sysytem), switch the machine on, then wait for the installation process to continue. i did it but the installation didn't continue. what should i do now? help me please... for additional info, im running windows xp service pack 2.

try turning the computer off and back on with the printer set up and see if it will recognize a "new device" and if it will ask if you want it to find the driver, then say "yes".

DISCONNECT printer from PC
UNINSTALL program/drivers (check add remove progs under control panel, or the printer folder in control panel too)
restart PC
Insert CD for printer,
Run installer
Connect printer ONLY when asked to do so, it will now detect printer correctly and install it

Enjoy it.

It seems like you may need to turn on the printer and then plug it in to the usb port. Let the computer recognize that there is a new component plugged in and install from there. If that does not work you may need to go to the brothers website and down load the drivers from there.
