Life is not a game. Someones existence is not a game...it's all they have. What someone makes of their life is so important I can't believe that anyone could even think of equating it with a game.
Would it be OK for someone to end up spending their life in jail because killing someone or not paying taxes is 'just a game'? How about a gang rape in jail? Fun? Would it be fun to be homeless? Lose a child? To find out, try making decisions as if life is all a game and see how much fun you have.
Life is dead serious and the amount of 'fun' or happiness people earn depends on the decisions they make.
I made the right decisions and while in my 40's I was able to stop working and do all the things I love. Do you have any idea how much fun I'm having now (probably not). It's because I took my life seriously, made serious plans and went after what I wanted.
But if someone wants to be a loser, end up with nothing, depend on others for their support, have no self-esteem, never find a great mate...well, treat life like a game. They will get what they deserve.

If it was a game......too bad its not like GTA.....within an instant you get half a million, do a couple of crimes get away with and die to respwan again.....
For me, life is a game in the sense of opportunity. That when you make a mistake there is an opportunity to set it right again. In the game you save so that if you did something wring, you load so that you could fix it up again.
You're correct that life is a game and that we should have fun with it. But you're suppose to do something and accomplish some task. While playing a game, you dont just stand still and do nothing. Your suppose to finish mission, find easter eggs, etc....otherwise how will you have fun?

No - 'life is serious, life is earnest'.
As a christian Ibelieve life is a preparation for the after life, but that also good, or evil, - fulfilment, or non-fulfilment, can take place during our life time, and we have the free will to choose what we do. Recommend you read St. John's gospel in the bible's New T estament, unless you are anti-christian!
'I am the captain of my soul, I am the master of my fate'.
Cannot remember the poet, sorry.
good luck.

Life is easy and can be a game for those born with silver spoons in their mouth. Otherwise, its a challenge every other day. Hope and optimism keeps you going but no, its not a game at all. A game can never be as significant as life itself.

Yes I agree, and it doesn't trivialize life one bit to admit that it is a game. It's strange how we learn the rules of the game by trial and error to some degree. To review the rules of the game, live ethically and be kind to each other.

That's good thinking because what we see as life is only the relative superficial part of it... and as you say, that part is for VARIETY.. or diversity.
The problem comes up when the NON-CHANGING part of our life is weak (Spiritual-eternal). But when that is strong, everything gets back into balance is life becomes fulfilling.
So your thinking is quite clear on this thing. Very Good.

Through my experience, I can tell you that at many times in our lives, we are on cross roads and we have to choose one way to go and that decides our future or destiny. So it is not just fun but needs careful thinking and choosing the right way.

To define life is difficult. We can not describe by words the taste of a fruit. We have really to eat the fruit to know the taste & flavour. And so is life. we have to experience life.
