Wow, that's really a great question that makes one think and I've never thought of it like that. I know that if we didn't send out pheromones we wouldn't have chemistry. Most of the time if we didn't have chemistry, we wouldn't fall in love. But, on the other hand, I have to remember all the young unwed mothers out there that I'm sure weren't in love and obviously they reproduced.

I'm sorry that I may not have answered your question, but it certainly was a good one. In summary, no...I don't think that love is a trick of nature to make us reproduce.

Nah. I'm pretty sure we're hard-wired to want to reproduce. Look at the rest of the animal kingdom! There are few animals that can love each other. And there are thousands of married couples who feel no need to ever have children.
