The damage to our earth is not wealth. The problem is how money and resources are managed. I've been to "developing nations" they are the filthiest places on the planet because they do not know and do not want to manage their own resources.

The alternative to wealth is poverty, is that what you wish on yourself and your country? Be glad that you were born in a nation that knows how to prosper.

If you want to share your wealth, go ahead. Governments have tried that and failed. Individuals who attempt to do that end up homeless and/or bitter about their altruism.

Poverty and the poor will always be among us. Right now on earth, poverty is, for the most part, an over-population issue. A way to address poverty is through education. Remember that it's better to teach a man to fish than to hand a man a fish.

A lot of the time the poor won't listen because they are so tied to ways and traditions and religions that cause poverty.

Money is neither good nor bad...It's the people who use it that determine it's impact. Certainly there are people who put their pursuit of wealth above all other concerns, but don't discount the BENEFITS of capitalism on the planet.

For instance, where capitalism is the driving factor behind protecting land, the land does BETTER than when Nature is just allowed to take its course. Why? Because the people who own the land (or are responsible for it's upkeep) have a vested interest in keeping it beautiful and productive.

Another consideration is that where 3rd world countries are polluting far faster than western societies, it's because they are trying to bring their population into the 21st century. It's basic survival. We did the same thing when we were growing. Once the countries are competitive on a global scale, they then have the luxury to look about them and start taking care of their natural resources.

Wealth isn't, no. Wealth is money and money is used for trade, and trade is essential to living.

Greed and lazyness are damaging our planet. Strip mining, depletion of the rainforests, uprooting marshlands, and drilling on pristine land. What is wrong with the earth as God made it? Why do men think they can make it better? Why do we need walmarts on every corner? Instead of spending money finding oil, why aren't spending that money to find cleaner technology. A scientist just discovered how to ignite saltwater which burns releasing virtually no emissions. Can you imagine the possibilities?????

no. Wealth is necessary it is greed, poor education and callous disregard for everything that damages the planet. What pays for all the recycling plants and trees planted in the ground. Money. Who creates pollution and damages the environment. Uneducated or uncaring individuals.

Of course it is! But that's the name of the game. We will use the Earth's resources until they are gone. It cannot be helped. We need the resources to survive. Simple economics. Is it right? Perhaps not but it's the way of the world. The accumulation of monetary wealth is the goal of most human beings on this planet and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Yes The right and responsible thing to do is forget it use what ever you need to live, they have more power that we have and look at Gore from a rich tobacco family going around like a salesman selling globule warming, trying to make more money thats what hes doing, he knows how much oil we have how much is used for fuel, how much is used to produce plastic so the question is what will replace plastic. Come one these people try to sell us anything to make a buck.

No. Don't confuse wealth with greed. They are completely different subjects. If you had asked about greed I'd say yes.
