of course i am gay,but i got an email from someone who thinks i am judging the fictional character albus dumbledore from the harry potter books.
i did not mean come across as being judgemental.
but its just like saying(if dumbledore had been a real person)that he(or she in rowlings case)woke up one morning and said 'hey i'm gay.'

sorry i just don't feel right about that.

I agree with you about the assessment of J. K. Rowling. How dare she make Dumbledore gay as an afterthought.

She only did so to push her own agenda. The HP hoopla had died down. So in order to put herself back in the spotlight, she decided to bring controversy to the HP series by outing Dumbledore.

Once everyone started talking about the series and her again, she says, "Oh, by the way. I'm giving away 6 rare books and auctioning off the other one for charity." Now when all the die-hard fans BEGS her to publish the rare book entitled The Tales of Beedle the Bard, she'll say, "OK, I'll only do it because you all insist." Cha-ching!!!!!!!!

It was all a ploy by her because she's J. K. Rowling and she does what she wants to do. It was quite inconsiderate and selfish of her to make Dumbledore gay for her own purposes.

His being gay served no purpose. It didn't add to the story lines. It detracted from the series and herself.

If she really wanted everyone to be tolerant of gay people, she would have made Dumbledore gay throughout the books. NOT AFTER the fact.

J.K. Rowling, the author, has every right to determine the personalities and attributes of her characters. She most likely didn't "wake up one morning and said 'I'm gay'" on behalf of Dumbledore". This was most likely a calculated decision she made. Clues and hints, as she said in her interview, have been available throughout the series.

It is never okay to be judgmental of other people, regardless if you share a commonality with them or not.
