I found a piece of paper that I had written down a quote on a long time ago. I can't remember where it's from and it is really bugging me. Here is the quote:

"There was a legend that a long time ago, all humans came in pairs but because of some reason, the cupid has separated all these couples into different places over the world ... Some people spend their whole lives trying to find the other half..."

It's driving me crazy and I have to know where it comes from. I can't seem to find the answer on IMDB, or any google searches.

The Butcher's Wife had something similar to that. I can't remember the exact quote but Demi Moore's character called them "split-aparts" and explained they had been connected at the navel

The story/idea is originally from Greek philosophy (Plato, I think, though not 100% sure), that people were originally born with both sets of sexual organs, then separated by the gods. This explains sexual attraction, people are searching for their lost other halves.

I believe this is a reference to the lost world of Atlantis, not a movie quote.
