None of the things you mention are in any way troublesome to me, and in fact, the first three make me think that even an evil, opportunistic man might have some good points. The fourth indicates that he might have normal human problems.

Other moral failures? That he supports the war plans of the immoral PNAC crowd is a moral failure - I'd have to say, the most troublesome to me. When he was mayor, the NYPD tortured and murdered civilians and he defended them - those are moral failures. That he cut aid to the homeless in a city where $60,000 a year will get you a poverty-level standard of living - that's a moral failure.

I can think of a number of moral failures of his, particularly in connection with 9/11, but they're all semi-political ones.

None of the above. In fact, I agree with redsandriver about all of those points.

But here's why I'm not voting for Giuliani:

He failed to prioritize the safety of NYC citizens in the wake of the 1993 WTC bombing. It was known that the Motorola radios did not work properly, and it took him 7 years to get around to getting them replaced, and even then, they were never tested. 300+ firefighters died because of faulty equipment.

He also placed the NYC Office of Emergency Managment Command Center in 7 WTC due to the convenience of publicity ops, even though it was a strategically miserable place to put such a major emergency operation. 7 WTC also fell on 9/11.

Finally, in front of the 9/11 Commission, he claimed that NYC firefighters refused to leave their post when they were told to leave the North Tower (after the South Tower collapsed), calling them heroes, while also implying that they'd disobeyed orders. The reality is that their radios were not working properly, and they could not hear the call to leave. Not a single police officer died in the North Tower, because their radios were on a different system.

I can not believe this man is running on the blood of the citizens of NYC. May he be fully investigated and exposed for his failures!

I think it was a moral failure to let thousands of workers get chronically (some fatally) ill from the 9/11 cloud, and then deny it when the problems developed. Even after the hatches were battoned down and the smoke had cleared from the two planes, he had one goal: smooth appearances and get back to business as usual. In all candor, he should have cleared the city for a few weeks until toxin levels abated.

He's a showman, nothing better.

The three marriages is the most troublesome failure on your list because this shows a life-long pattern of infidelity and inability to get along with a partner. His political corruption spilled over into his public life. While he was mayor, he had trysts with girlfriends during business hours, and he maintained an office/apartment at public expense for this purpose.

This is a political forum. Politics are not only welcomed, they are required.

I couldn't care less about anyone's "moral failures"; Jesus said, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Is that a pebble I see in your fist?

I like many of Rudy's stances, but I am most troubled by his statements regarding illegal aliens (as if he will protect our borders), when he apparently created a sanctuary in New York when he was mayor.

You didn't respond to the remainder of my message. Guess you're just another 'moral' voter. Too bad you're so afraid of Rudy's politics that you have to depend on personal attacks.

not speaking to his kids. Not attending church hurts no, proven to exist person. Being gay is personal choice. Having three marriages shows a lack of commitment (watch out gays), nothing else, why should he live with someone he hates or why should they live with him. Kids are important and not speaking to there father, is a severe betrayel of trust and breakdown of relationship.
