Here's the thing. Tools are very sacred. And for men, their tools are a sign of their ingenuity and strength. Also, they are expensive, and sometimes, not easily replaced. Often a tool will be part of a set. And when one piece of the set is missing, it will drive us absolutely bonkers. If someone needed the use of our tools, most men would probably rather go assist them by doing the work themselves, instead of loaning out the tools. At least, I feel that way. Also, it might be that he felt you should have asked him first before you loaned it out. Anyway I guess I can't really speak for everyone else but to answer your question, yes, I guess I am possessive with my tools.

Gem, I understand your husband so well, my first husband was a mechanic, and tow truck driver and he had a junk yard, so cars were his life,,,,,and his tools, were so important, he would , when finished with his tools, clean them, and put them back in the tool chest, he had one of those large tool chests, and he lined the drawers with heavy plastic, so the tools would be protected, yes men love there tools, It would be the same thing as your husband lending your neighbor your best china tea pot....and not asking you first....I don't think you would like it.....I am all for your husband on this one....sorry Gem.....he is right, and you were wrong......

"sure via fact in assessment to women human beings adult men are particularly trouble-free in everyway!" exciting. I wasn't conscious that men have been so consumer-friendly. the place did this meant "complexity" on the area of girls ever upward thrust up from, anyhow? men are no longer static, they only would no longer present day as many of their very own thoughts and innovations. certainly, the place is the information, even in an anecdotal variety, helping the actual incontrovertible fact that maximum men are "trouble-free," and maximum women are "complicated?" I even have in no way seen any. that's confusing for one intercourse (or, certainly, one man or woman) to truly understand the attitude of yet another except they take a step decrease back and learn the situations of this man or woman's life and life, whether the variety of technique would be very time ingesting and confusing to do in the spur of the 2nd. If a woman "says" she thoroughly is familiar with adult men, she is in trouble-free terms an conceited heathen. that's all.

My mother has her own tools. Usually the men ask to borrow them. They return them before they are allowed to leave!
Mom doesn't like anyone touching her tools. They never put them back where they belong and if someone takes something.......I don't want to be around.
Good Luck, GEM!
I'd just go buy him new ones. Or beg for them back.
Not worth the hassle.

I do not have a problem with men touching my tools, but they can't touch my tool, if you know what I mean:) Seriously, I will loan any tools to my neighbors and they let me borrow theirs. But with my luck, if I borrow a neighbor's tool, it usually disintegrates in my hands, and I usually end up buying the neighbor a new one.

They can touch my Craftsmen tools all they want, but touching my Snap-on & Mac tools is off limits.

I have lots of tools.... lots and lots. There are many I would have no problem loaning to other guys (or girls) but some of my precious tools (Dremmel stuff, complete sets of Snap-On drive ratchets/sockets, my fine adjustment screwdrivers, etc.) I don't let anybody handle those. They're like my children, nobody messes with them.
