The most memorable Christmas I had was when I was a Child. We had a big family do at my Nan and Grandads. None of the Crackers went bang so we had to shout BANG! they only contained half a hat so we had to sellotape them all together and the jokes were missing. It was fantastic. We had such a laugh. Oh yes and my Grandad and uncle dressed up as the ugly sisters. They were babes!!!

My advice is SHOUT BANG!

not meaning to sound rude, but are they cheap or expensive crackers?? we have the same problem, bought Beano ones for last year and none banged, but others always did.

Also, however, i believe storage conditions would affect them, if they got any sort of moisture near them they would be ruined. and this applys to the place you bought them, if you got rained on carrying them to the car, or if the boot was damp.

sorry, rambling a bit there lol! My answer is yes, its a common occurence, and i cant help guide you to crackers guarenteed to bang, sorry!!!

When I pull them with my daughters ,some times ,as we dont grip strong enough the small strip inside that causes the bang slips of the paper. We just pull the strip on its own for the sound effects.Try twist the bit you hold and ask the other person to do the same, works some times !

The older the cracker is the less likely it will work. Try pulling the tabs faster. Make sure you don't expose the crackers to moisture (steam or humid air) don't store them in the kitchen or near the bathroom.

You are probably unknowingly buying bangless christmas crackers. Not all come with the wee explosive charge anymore. Read the label before you buy. I got non-exploding ones by mistake and it takes part of the fun away.

You have to have a good hold on them otherwise they will not go off. Just inside the part where you hold is a small strip of cardboard. Make sure you have a hold of this, then you will get your bang.

nope, ours usually go bang, make sure you are keeping them in a dry place as any damp will ruin them.
