A no brainer for me. Humboldt County CA. I am surrounded by beaches, rivers, mountains, cultural events, community involvement and of course our incredibly beautiful majestic redwoods. The weather tends to be cool, but I like it this way. It keeps the population down and everything green! People are friendly for the most part. We have a town (Arcata) that has a town square surrounded by shops, plenty of bars and more dreadlocks per capita than anywhere except Jamaica. (Same with the ganja if that's your thing). "It's your thing, do what you want to do", song lyrics..... And Eurekas old town is quaint and the people watching couldn't be better. Also Humboldt State University is in Arcata and jobs there pay very well. I live in paradise. Now everyone else please stay seated in your own living room! Okay, you can come for a visit. For a small price I will put you up on an air mattress on my small living room floor. And for a bit more, I'd love to be your tour guide. Oh, by the way, we have no poisonous snakes.

In a nice cabin, in the woods, near a stream or a lake overlooking a small city somewhere in California :)

I love living in los angeles but, I would kill to live in a quiet place like that.

A tropical paradise by the sea with access to all amenities but also guaranteed peace and quiet! Somewhere like Guadeloupe or Martinique (French West Indies) so I could make use of my love of the French language.
