Does anybody know how notepads are made? And by what machinery? Please include links if possible

I believe commercial notepads would fall in the bookbinding category, and there are several different styles with different ways to make them. Some have pages glued together and some are spiral bound.

I make my own notepads at home which I give as gifts or sell to my friends. I use my home computer, a HP officejet all-in-one printer and a Printmaster 16 software program. I bought the following at an office supplies store: a 9.5 x 12in manual paper cutter, 2-inch paper clamps and a Padding glue to bind the paper together. I use plain copy paper. That lesson involves using purchased "padding compound" and a special clamping frame, but permanent "white glues" can also be used (and also less fancy presses).
