Nothing appears to the monitor after booting. Operating system is Windows 2000. I guess that hard disk is working properly because red light blinks when the computer is started. Before the problem arised splash screen of windows appeared but the computer was hung. After forcly shut down present problem arises.

Seem to me a hardware problem.

Check the monitor if it is working, maybe the cable is faulty,
might be the video card.

check monitor cable if it is loose or what, if secured and still not working, try working in safe mode, by pressing f5 or f6 in keyboard after booting. try downloading the latest driver for your video card then install, reboot and see if its working. If still not, try to change the vid card.

*Some motherboards have some error checks on connected hardwares, if you hear some beeps coming from your computer, some devices may not be working properly.

strange maybe somethings wrong with the monitor
check if it's plugged in
