period after ending bc?

Question

so i've been taking birth control, but decided to stop this month because my boyfriend and i are doing the long distance thing and yeah...so i've been on bc before and when i would stop taking it after my last week i would get the normal period and then a few days later it would start again since i wasn't on bc anymore and not getting the hormones anymore...but this time i never got the second period...and today i got a weird thick discharge...should i be worried or is this normal?

This thick discharge could be an indicator that the next period is soon to come (the discharge can get a bit thicker at ovulation) but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
