If you have medical problems and are sentenced to jail. What would happen?

HI, a coulpe weeks ago I had an abscess in my throat. I was put on antibitoics and the antibiotics killed the anaerobic bacteria in my digestive system. Im now having digestive problems. Afterwards, I was checked to see if I had C. Defficile which is a harmful organism that can destroy your intestines. It came up negative but Im still having digestive problems. I got a second DWI a month ago and will be sentenced in about a month to which I will be accepting a jail term. I need medical help to take care of my digestive system and I sure as heck dont want to have C. Defficile when Im in jail. So what are the rules when it comes to needing medical treatment and going to jail? Is my lawyer able to postpone the court sentence until I am treated? (we were given an extension after 45 days) Or what if I needed medical help when I was in jail? Thanks for any info ===

Have your medical records ready for when you go to jail, and let the process officers know you have med issue that needs to be addressed, and/or have you doctor and lawyer talk about the issue.
