I'm 28 wks and my baby boy has become so active in the last 2 from hard knots to me actually seeing 3 or 4 ripples pass over one another at a time.. Its an almost 24 hr playground in there especially after 9 pm... Is this normal or is their any way to calm him down or is it he's getting too big for mommy's space????? And light is the key to his activities especially since its 3 am and I have a laptop in his face!!!

Awwww, the memories floating back to me now are putting a smile on my face! I call the ripple thing, 'the snake' as its like a snake is squirming around in there. Its completely normal and a little annoying but in a few more weeks he will have a little less room everyday and the squirming will subside and become more hard kicks as he finds his head down and comfy 'awaiting birth' position!

There really isn't much you can do about it now except I found when I walked around heaps or did exercise like house work the motion lulled them off to sleep. When I layed down or slept I found they woke up more because they weren't getting the motion anymore. You can kind of understand why they liked being rocked to sleep once they are born. Its like they are back in the rocking womb again!

Enjoy this time as it really is the best part of pregnancy I think and before you know it the unbearable phase will start and you'll be very anxious to get him out!

Best of luck

most babies are active at night while mommy is trying to sleep, when you are up and about during the day this creates a rocking sensation and the baby is more likely to be asleep, however when you lay down to rest or sleep, this stops and the baby wakes and becomes active. It is completely normal and other then being uncomfortable for you there is nothing wrong with it.

Sounds very similar to my experience. I had extra placental fluid, which enabled my son to swim like a champ, right until he was delivered by emergency c-section at 36 weeks.

I also started contracting at 24 weeks and had contractions right up until the end. It was my body's response to his constant activity.

I should note that at 6 months, my son loves nothing more than bathtime and we support him and let him 'swim' like crazy. Must have been all of that practice in vitro!

It's totally normal, lol! I know, it's hard and unfortunately you have a ways to go. Don't drink a whole lot of caffefine if your doing that and besides that, there isn't anything negative from moving around alot. Best of luck hun and have fun with your baby when it comes =)
