what purpose does it serve anyway?

I think it should either be used all the time or not at all. I hate this switching back and forth twice a year.

NO, I wish it was year around, love the long days of summer and hate the short days of winter., by 5pm it is totally dark. If anything, it should be switched around, having DST during the winter and standard time in the summer. Would give us Northerners an extra hour of daylight to shovel snow.

I believe daylight savings was originally invented for better use of daylight hours for farmers...
(It's an adjustment of the sun's angle through the year to benefit the use of our daytime hours through the year.)

Yes. You have my vote. The purpose it serve is to annoy the hell out of you. Because I always forget. Now my VCR changes too early, since they change the month. Now I have to set the VCR when I before I didn't have too. A$$holes.

No, it provides us with more hours in the day and although it takes some time to get used to, it is better in the long run as it allows us to use our time wisely.
