Dont know much about resolutions,

Which of the two should I go with on my computer monitor?

1024x768 is a 3:4 resolution, use it if you have a normal monitor.

1280x720 is a wide screen resolution, use it if you have a widescreen monitor.

Its not the fact of better resolution, its just finding the resolution that fits your screen and you cant read and such.

1280x720 is a widescreen.

you think yours is complicated, mine goes up to 1440x900.

1280x720 is Hollywood-introduced ratio as it fits better for the peripheral vision of a human hence better at showing movies in more proper shape; but it is not an established ratio yet just adopted by computers as they gone to be media machines, and you would save more headaches with 1024x768 for now.

1024X758 is good for standard ratio screen.
1280X720 is good for wide screen.

it depends on how you like it big or small, mine is 1024 x 768

if u use 17" monitor then use 1024x 768 or if u use wider monitor then use 1280x720
