I am looking for a yes or no answer. I am not talking about your children, etc. (even though at a certain age...). I am asking is it commonplace to allow a person with bad credit to put a large purchase in your name and trust them to pay it. Nothing signed, just based on trust.

Yes. The main thing in this is trust. If you trust the person and understand that he or she has learnt over the mistakes and needs the desperately longed for break. And i can afford to risk it, then I would say, yes.

None.

No matter how long that I have known someone, I would not do this. Chances are you will be out 30k. People who have bad credit generally have bad credit for one big reason: They don't pay their bills!! Why would they all of a sudden start paying when you are involved?

Don't do it. Check my profile for a loan option. Let the market on this website decide what the persons loan should be. It will take the headache off of your shoulders.

Hell NO! Unless you can afford that debt yourself, you should never put any amount of a loan in your name for another person.

Absolutely not. Especially if they have bad credit. Don't do it.
