I guess it depends on who you ask and who is seen as unpopular to who. I mean I"d think that after the little stunts and BS that Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy and Mertha just to name 3 with their pathetic partisan politics and lies should be canned immediately for conduct unbecoming of a senator, but for some reason the same idiots...(liberals mostly) keep voting for them. They haven't done the work of the people, they should be earning their already bloated paychecks and get things done. I've been counting the demcratic promises and haven't seen them dealt with. I don't see the patriotism, I don't see them attacking corruption...rather adding to it, I don't see them being straight forward with the American people and caught many in lies about the Alternative minimum tax or the Schips program. They haven't fixed Social security and shot down Bush's idea to save it. I'm sure that more than just these 3 fore-mentioned also fit the profile. Personally I can't see how people fall for their "kiss the baby" campaigns when their performance sucks so bad to fix the problems in America. Seems for a few years now they can't even come forward with their position on anything, they always have to take a pole and flop onto the winning side. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
I say we end all positions of "career politics"

It's two different thought patterns... CONGRESS (the whole group) is a nuthouse, everyone in DC is crazy, and the country is going to heck in a handbasket. Everyone "knows" that, and they all feel that way.

But MY Senator or Congressman (the individual guy) is doing his best for us, working really hard, trying to keep the government off our backs, and I'd be really proud to vote for him again!

For some reason, Americans tend to dislike the group, but don't have any problem with our local representatives. It's a strange way of thinking, and no one has ever been able to really explain it. But that is the way it works.

It could well be that their only other choice (the other party) would be even worse. Remember that our political system attracts the scum that is unable to make it in the corporate world.

Because they treat voting machines like slot machines... they hope that if they pick something they'll win!
