Ghanouge , sometimes you truly intrigue me with your interesting questions !
First of all , we need to define & understand poor...if we are talking only about a lack of material wealth then to my mind the majority of the world's population can be classed as poor.......this usually goes hand in hand with a shortage of the necessities of life !
However , if we look closer & value life's circumstances in terms of relationships , family networks , sense of community etc maybe many of these so called poor people are far richer than our more materialistic societies..
Only my opinion...

I am not going to talk philosophy, but more practical: but according to my travels I concluded the following:
1) Most people in Europe, will think a middle eastern (not from the gulf area) is poor till prove the opposite (if rich he would be a criminal according to them), so the county of origin plays a role
2) Most Europeans (especially not old generation )will think a person is rich from how he is dressing up , especially the shoes brand, the belt and the watch and for women bags, the location of his/her house also will give an idea about his wealth
3)In the middle east the car plays a role in the definition of poor, and the location and type of his house
4) In east Europe esp the ex soviets , being fat (not skinny) can give an impression of being wealthy (have the ability to east better)
4)In the USA , his job will give an idea about his wealth (lawyer , doctor, engineer….)
5) In Africa , the skin color will give a hint of the wealth, whites supposed to be rich
6) In hotels , some shops, the type of the credit cards , can also give an idea of the wealth
7)As for me, his taste, and the education , will give me idea of the wealth, education needs money, and makes money later, a person who has good taste in Art, theaters, music , has to be rich,,, people can just enjoy more, know more the details than the basics, and have better tastes when they get rid of the essential problem and burden of being poor…

I can tell which country the person is by the way they look or talk.
If a person is poor, I don't know what do mean. A person can be poor in his/her soul even if they have money. A poor person could be someone with no money, but a good soul.

I think Aussie expressed this answer best, I've been watching him, he's the real thing, he knows of what he speaks and he often expresses my mind for me before i even think of it. My hat is off to Aussie, But I digress. Poor: I have this problem. I walk into a room and everyone automatically assumes that I'm the wealthiest man there. They don't offer me a ride because they assume I have a chauffer waiting outside. They don't offer me a bite to eat because they assume their food is not good enough for me they don't offer me a drink because they don't want to be embarrassed about the quality of their wine. My employer is afraid I'm going to take over his business if he tells me too much about the job I'm doing for him. By some peoples standards I'm dirt poor. Live week to week. check to check. But you know what? I feel like a king. I think it's because my parents always thought I was rich too. Even when I was a baby. My mother thought her breast milk was substandard, My dad never told me he loved me til I was thirty five. I asked him why. He said he didn't think I was interested in his love. Two grown men hugging and crying we were. It was a beautiful thing. But again I digress. I like this Aussie character. He's a quiet teacher.

No, you can't determine if a person is poor just by the way they look or by the way they are dressed. I know people who are doing financially really really good, but they wear very cheap clothes. There are also people who wear expensive clothes, but are doing very bad financially. They just spend most of their money on clothes to pretend they are rich.
The only way to determine if a person is rich or poor is if you can find out if he/she owns his/her home and if you can find out out how much investments they have.
Why are you trying to find out if people are rich or poor?
Are you trying to find a rich boyfriend/husband?
You can tell which country a person is from by their facial features, or by just asking them.

i think the country has nothing to do with poverty
and i guess looks don't determine if a person is poor or not
cause a lot of people would be sleeping on stacks of money, but still they don't know how to dress or even look good..
and believe it ....such people exist.
maybe poverty can be determined by the way poeple act or their lifestyle...

No, if i'm better off than them, they are poor. When I was growing up we were so bad off, we aspired to be poor someday. I started life with nothing and I have most of it left.
Looks are deceiving, and country is also not a good indicator.

a person is poor can be accessed by his health . the first thing a person will do is to feed himself if he has enough money . so the flesh on his bones is a good enough way to access this condition
unless the person is critically ill which prevents him to be healthy.
