I won't give specifics, but I used to be so easy going. Now, because I am under a high stress lifestyle (SO HIGH STRESS) I feel like I am no longer the person I used to be. Now I am so on edge, and although I have tonnes of friends, and more close friends than I could ask for, I don't want to push them away we this new bitchiness that I can't seem to shake. What do I do? I get irritated so quickly now.

Friendship is a very important relationship that people need sometimes to become less stressed. Friends are there to take away stress. I don't know how old you are but I'm assuming it's just a stage in your life where growing up is really becoming too much of a reality. I know, I've been there. Try not to let it get to you so much though. If I'm totally wrong, still remember That if your friends are true friends then they will stick by you no matter what and you are there for them when they need you.... or just buy a stress ball.

Maybe you should take a vacation, or invite all your friends to just like a girls day out. Try and get the things that stress you out, and take it one step at a time. Try to figure out what really bothers you in life, and the things you CAN get rid of, throw them away. Spend more time doing things you want to. And if that doesn't work, try to control your anger more. Have like one of those squeeze balls that you can bite and squeeze. And most of all, tell your used to be close friends, how you feel.

Please dont take this the wrong way but, you have a form of depression and a visit to a family doctor (not a shrink) would be a wise thing to do.
I had some really negative thoughts at one time and was almost ready to act on them but I confided in my family doctor (during a check-up) and they diagnoses me with depression.
You could have a season form of depression on top of the work related stress.

Try to relax and not think about stuff that much. Write your feelings out in a journal or self indulge in activities that interest you. Don't take too much projects or favors.
