I LOVE the name Cruz ( pronounced like cruise) but I don't think Cruz is a first name, my other son's name is Kaden Blake, but we call him Blake. My brother's name is Aaron Matthew and we've always called him Matt and he hates it, he says there is no reason to name your child something that you're not going to call him either way my baby is going to have a first and middle name and something that sounds really good together and I am in desperate need of suggestions. And our last name is Hager so if you have any suggestions I'd LOVE to hear them... thanks!

It's not wierd or crazy to call your child by their middle name. Lots of my friends go by their middle name. It doesn't matter that Cruz is more of a last name, but you can name your child whatever you want. There are lots of names that are really last names like Jackson. I know a kid named Harris(my LAST name is Harris), a kid named Smith. SO go for it and I love Cruz.

How about Cruz Ethan Hager or Cruz Anthony Hager. The middle name should be two syllables so it will balance out the one syllable Cruz.

There's nothing wrong with Cruz. People are naming their children with any sort of first name now-a-days. The trend seems to be to see how different you can be from traditional names. So, if your worry is that your child would stick out due to oddity of that name, don't worry. He'll be right in stride with today's tradition. It's different, but not odd. Different is the 'in' thing.

I personally know a Chase and a Chance. Neither of those were thought to be first names in decades past. But they are both good names for the boys. Both are called by those names and both are popular boys.

So, I'd say if you're in love with the name Cruz, then go with it! I don't think you'd be sorry for that choice.

I hope this is of some help or gives you some reassurance in your choices.

I agree, don't do Cruz as a first name because its just not a nice grown up name. And I also agree, whats the point of giving a first name if you don't use it? What about these combo's.....

Zachary Cruz Hager
Saxon Cruz Hager
Levi Cruz Hager
Zavier Cruz Hager
Jackson Cruz Hager
Ashton Cruz Hager
Liam Cruz Hager

Hope this helps!
