Ok for science i have to do this assigment, which asks the hypothesis, "The hotter the water is, the more salt it will dissolve", i got a question asking which would be the indendant, dependant && controlled variles in this experiement, anyone know, cause i have no idea!!

The independent variable is the variable you change on purpose in the experiment, so in the case it's the water temperature.

The dependent variable depends on the independent variable, its the factor that you are measuring in relation to the independent variable, in this case the mass of salt that dissolves.

Controlled variables are the ones that you keep the same in the experiment eg. the amount of water, the source and type of water(distilled or tap??), external conditions such as room temp, the type of vessel that you heat the water in etc.

Independent: temperature
Dependent: solubility of NaCl (mass that dissolves)
Control: volume of water
