I recently got arrested and they used force to put me into a hospital for alcohol consumption, when I could have easily slept in my bed. I know im going to be paying off alot of fines and hospital bills, but I was wondering if I could donate the money to charities or third world countries were they are living off 2$ a day. Why should I have to pay money to people who already are in good condition(U.S.), when around the world there are people suffering. I would even consider volunteering to help out these countries build or create a way were these countries could have less problems than they now have. So anyone have any idea how i could approach this in court?

The only time i've heard of a hospital being involved is when the person was so intoxicated or judged to be so intoxicated that the authorities were afraid that the person might die in they're sleep.
I suppose the police can make a judgement like that based on blood alcohol level but I have no clue what their specifications are for %.
Unfortunately, that's what police do... They aren't only there to protect and to serve. They seem to also be there to catch you for the minor infractions to "fleece the flock" sort of speak to help fill city coffers. Personally I am highly against giving any excess monty to local or federal Governments since they don't seem to even be responsible with what they get already. Especially socialist programs that exist just to make people more dependant on the Government.
Community service might be an option depending on how well behaved you were during the incident and apprehension. Although it probably would depend on how good of concil you have, how much of a hanging judge you get...or not get, and something pertaining specifically in relation to the supposed "crime" as they veiw it.

Sorry.. but the law doesn't change just because you have a big heart. Invest a little in yourself first and then give back.
