My girlfriend just asked me......maybe a trick question or something...she told me to answer this question after thinking about it......any ideas?

My idea of the difference is what occurs between the two: thought, the seeking of more information, and a decision made... then you have gone from problem to solution.

a solution is an answer to a problem. a problem is something that needs a solution.
