I like Forrest Gump better because of the characters and the story, but Walk the Line is also an excellent movie. Both had excellent actors and soundtracks. They are sort of different types of movies, but are both classics still - it is not easy to compare them - a bit like comparing Lord of the Rings and The Shawshank Redemption. Also, Walk The Line was a fair bit darker than Forrest Gump. That is just my opinion.

Forrest Gump.
Walk the Line, while being a true story, was a rather depressing true story. Yes, it deals with a period of time in Johnny Cash's life that was dark and how June Carter helped bring him out of that time, but I still felt more depressed than uplifted by it.
Forrest Gump is an uplifting film through and through.
The real question is which soundtrack is better...

In my opinion, Walk The Line. It's a true story, however embellished. Forrest Gump was nice, but not very realistic.

Forrest Gump. I like the plot a lot. This movie is just incredibly good. Highly recommended!!

Forrest Gump and its ties to current affairs send more real than Walk the Line I dont know why?? Johnny cash was a quiet man and kinda reserved... sometime fiction lends it self to wake up people more!

I prefer Forrest Gump, it just had so many quotes, and memorable moments. Although I really do like
Johnny Cash. Both were very good movies, that I wouldn't mind seeing again.
