Hayden Panettiere is trying to save the dolphins, what a moron. Why, because they're cute, or because we actually have a valid reason to save them? Has she forgotten people are carnivores, and we have to eat meat to survive? These same people are so worried about the polar bears, an animal that would not hesitate to kill ANYTHING, because it needs the meat. I don't care, those things can drop right off the melting ice and drown in the ocean, it makes no difference to me.
The real threat to the world are the losers on college campuses that come up with bullcrap studies that lie about how humans are going to destroy the Earth in about 50-100 years, like somehow, it didn't manage by itself the last what, trillion or so years!

There are billions of species of animals around the world, and new ones are found everyday. Animals have died out WITHOUT human interference. The world didn't fall into disrepair. Shut up idiots, who's the dumb one now.

Yes I am. Environmentalists are not all that bright. They prevented forest-thinning proposed by the US Forest Service to prevent fires which would helped in the latest California wildfires. Then they blamed the wild fires on global warming which they themselves contributed to by successfully opposing forest-thinning. What do these people use for brains? I personally don't want to rely on them for my survival.

Okay, well.... even though everyone is clowning you and not giving you an answer, I'll give it a shot. Why save the animals? I have always loved animals and my kids love animals, so I guess I would support programs that promote the protection of animals for my children's sake. The most important reason we should save animals is because in one way or another it will affect the human population on earth. Let's say there is some muskrat in South America and this muskrat loves nuts. (I'm not even sure if muskrats eat nuts, this scenario is truly hypothetical) This muskrat wanders around all day collecting these nuts and burying them. This is directly responsible for the growth of new trees and the expansion of the rain forest. Well, all the villages decide that they love the taste of muskrats and they start setting up traps to capture the muskrats and eat them. Now, the panthers main prey is this muskrat and the panthers are now starving so they start entering the village to eat people. That affected the people of these villages. Also, the muskrat is dying off. The rainforest is not growing anymore, so not as much oxygen is being produced. This dominoes into the greenhouse effect.... all because someone thought that muskrat tasted like pumpkin pie. Everything on this planet is a very small piece of the puzzle. Every piece that is lost alters the puzzle just enough for something else to get lost. So far we have been pretty fortunate.... You say you are tired of everyone trying to save the animals... but if I got to listen to some little girl crying about dolphins on tv to ensure that my kids are going to be able to even see a dolphin in 20 years, then I will definitely be the one to pass her the kleenex. Oh yeah.... one thing about the losers that say we are going to kill the Earth in 50-100 years... I agree they are wrong. The Earth will be alright. It might not be able to support life as we know it though... and that is what should matter to you. You can say the Earth has been managing itself for a trillion years... and that's exactly what it does... it manages itself. We shouldn't help it to get rid of us. Stay up!!

Wow. Um...
1. People are not carnivores. They are omnivores. Dictionary!!!
1. There are millions of people who AREN'T omnivores. I've been vegan since conception, so it's news to me that we "have to eat meat to survive".
2. How is polar bears' being omnivores at all relevant?? Trying to preserve wildlife and animals that are going extinct because of the impact of human civlization has absolutely nothing to do with the characteristics of those animals.
3. I'm sorry you don't care about preserving wildlife, but there's no need to be obnoxious about the people who are. If anyone should be criticized, it's you, not them.
4. You're so irrational, sweetheart. The earth "managed by itself" for the past 7 billion (nowhere near a trillion) BECAUSE humans weren't here. That's the the point.
Take a fifth grade science class and kindergarten level reasoning lesson and have a nice day!

did you know that dolphin's are the second smartest mammal's to humans? There have been account's of dolphin's leading lost ship's to shore, saving human lives. So why should we not return the favor!! They are a beautiful creature, and the reason they are dying is because of man. We are destroying there homes!! As for polar bears, maybe they are not the friendliest animal's but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to live!!
take a look around humans are destroying the earth, we pollute the air, we pollute not only the ocean, but fresh water as well. We produce more wast then anything else on the planet, and you don't have to be an eco-freak to know that.
So I say to you if they don't deserve to live or have a right to live then neither do you!!!!!!!

I like dolphins as well as anyone, BUT the Japanese fishermen have to eat too. God made us the earth for us to use. I love animals, but some rich chick telling people not to make a living because it's un-pc is just disgusting.
And last I heard the earth was 65 billion years old. Either evolutionists are in a time warp, or the earth is aging a million years a day.

I agree with your last paragraph, but every wild animal serves a role in the eco-system that has permitted the earth to last a trillion years.
The earth is a puzzle made up of many differing factors and we cannot afford to lose any of the pieces.

Are you stupid?
You have obviously never taken an environmental studies course.
Shes probably trying to save the dolphins from people like you who probably kill them for sport and dont realize how important they are to marine ecosystems.
HUMANS HAVE ALREADY SEVERLY ALTERED THE EARTH!! No species has been so successful in destroying the earths natural ecosystems and pillaging its resources.
But YES the earth will be fine in the long run, it will only take it a couple million years to repair itself, and life will adapt to changes but people and the species living right now may not.
We are living UNSUSTAINABLY and are using resources faster than the earth can produce them. We are also emitting large amounts of CO2 that cannot be absorbed because we are cutting down the rainforests and killing coral reefs, which are VERY important in doing this. I could literally go on forever but i doubt something as simple as evidence will reverse your ignorance.
who is the dumb one now?
I bet you didnt know that the next great species extinction [think dinosaurs since you obviously don't care enough to know about the permian, cretaceous, ordovician, and devonian extinctions] is the largest known to mankind and is happening in the next 50-100 years due to human activity.
Yes extinction happens naturally but thats because of natural selection. What we are doing is killing them off by taking away their habitat and changint the global temperature through global warming.
loss of important species caused by humans=loss of foodchains in ecosystem=extinction of related species.
i dont think people are mad that you don't know these things, just that you are making such a strong statement about things you dont know so you can stop being so deffensive.

Yes! I eat meat and so do most people because eating beans all the time gives you terrible gas. Anyone that tries hugging a polar bear would find out pretty quick they don't eat beans.
The real threat to our survival are the stinkers who listen to environmentalists and ignore common sense and scientists that don't happen to agree with the most radical of theories. You don't have to have a college degree to know what environmentalists come up with. It's all over the news.

Wow! A CLASSIC "FLAT-EARTH" BELIEVER!
Just because you went to college does not make you smart.
Having an ability to understand an eco-system and our place in it does require a passing intelligence, which you so obviously are lacking.
Your going to have a very hard time trying to find anyone who will agree with your statement. Makes you feel somewhat, stupid, silly, ignorant, misguided, alone, etc. or all the above?
