ears and won't buzz off. What can I do to make sure they don't go on, and even in my ears or as a matter of fact, on me at all?

Try some Deet free insect repellent. To keep them out of your ears you can get you some earplugs, or put cotton in your ears maybe.

just a little dab of body lotion sold by Avon will do the trick
