Being destroyed by Kansas certainly didn't help his cause...

I'd be shocked if he was the coach next year.

I am not sure that Tom Osborne will do it this year. I think he has already informed Callahan that the school is looking at going in a different direction next season and may look at hiring someone new, but Osborne is only the interim AD right now. The school first needs to find a permanent AD that can make that decision and then look at the coaches. Also, there are only 3 games left in the season. I think Osborne is trying to get something going behind the scenes with another coach, but will let Callahan ride it out for the rest of the year. Besides, who is going to replace with this bad team?

$3 million is nothing to lose for the Husker Nation, especially if some of the alumni decide not to support the college as long as Callahan is around (rumor has it that quite a few did). I see him finishing out the season and old Osborne finding a suitable replacement (Solich is not looking quite so bad anymore, huh?) Anyways, hope they get better as my Longhorns need the BCS points for beating them next year!

I don't think he gets canned this week. At the end of the year more than likely. The only way I can see them firing him before the season is over is if they are ready to announce who they will have next year as head coach.

If you check Youtube you can find a clip of an ESPN interview with Tom Osborne from late-October where the interviewer asks him about reinstating the original walkon program and his reply is; "that's up to the new coaching staff". In my opinion, he's gone after the season.

True there, Also I see Osborne picking the "La Grange Star" Kentucky's Offensive Coordinator Joker Phillips.

NEB has to pay him 3 mil if they fire him...so he is not going to quit, although he should.

I hope he goes in and works out a settlement for him to leave. Even though I think he deserves nothing.

How many of us get paid millions when we do a crappy job and are fired? not many.

He's gone. I think Nebraska would take the loss of money to get their football program back to where it once was.
