Good for baseball. I like to see the underdog achieve.

Baseball is the only remaining major sports league without a salary cap so it's so hard for smaller market or low budget teams to win the world series. That's why the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Cubs and Braves are usually there. It's possible that a team like the Pirates or Rangers win seeing how Colorado went so far this year but I'd be pretty surprised seeing how they're pitching is weak.

A Pirates - Rangers World Series? I would undoubtedly be reading about it in the newspaper as there is no way I would tune in to watch it. So, I think my reaction would be to turn the page to a more compelling story.

The entire world would be shocked!
Especially the Pittsburgh Pirates.
I can see the Rangers making a run if they pick up some pitching!

More likely that the NY Islanders take off their skates and win World series. Actually could be amusing - teams required to rotate sports.

itll never happen with either team
the rangers get too worn down with the extreme heat in august and september, that, more than their usually pathetic pitching is why they never make it anywhere even when they do make the playoffs, plus im sorry but the angels, a's and m's are all just too much better than texas
the pirates i just dont think are good enough yet, id love to see them make some noise, be competitive, but i dont think they have the guns to make the playoffs, much less the series, much less win the series

I would love it!!! They are my favorite team and have been since I was a kid...back when Buddy Bell was a part of the Rangers, if not THE RANGER!!!
I'ld say, we Ranger fans have suffered as much if not more than Cubs fans...we are the Cubs of the American League and it would be great to see us pull off something as shocking as actually winning!!!

I would be happily surprised if this happened.
The Rangers played a great second half last season. If it wasn't for a crappy first half, they might have made the playoffs.
I think they could be a playoff contender next year and a possible WS champ within a couple years.
I hope it can happen!

First off : What great batters? Both teams are absolutley terrible and it would be a miracle if they win more then 75 games.
