You can probably go to a search engine and check out Heinrich Schliemann. He was the one that actually discovered the site of Troy by using clues that Homer left in both The Iliad and The Odyssey. I'm not exactly sure how they could tell that there was a war, but they know that there was a war in the place around the time that the Trojan war supposedly happened. They have found jewelry and other artifacts among the ruins.
Another little tidbit... Schliemann was a businessman who had enough money to search for Troy. Back then, there really were no archeologists. When Schliemann found the site, they pretty much just started digging until they found treasure. Meanwhile, thousands of years of history were being dug up and thrown away...
Hope this helps!

Do you have faith in a deity? If no longer, then you certainly are an atheist no count in case you like it or no longer. For God: maximum Christians define their God as: all-powerful - able to doing purely approximately something. Omniscient - is accustomed to each little thing that has occurred, is taking place and could take place. Loving - God loves and cares approximately us all. writer of the universe. O.ok. so enable us to confirm what that definition implies. God created the universe. He would have created any universe out of an countless variety of available universes. via fact he's all-powerful. previously God created any universe he would desire to have general each little thing that should take place in that universe. The spin of each electron, the crashing of galaxies, what you will possibly have for breakfast the following day. via fact he's omniscient. Given those 2 issues each little thing that occurs in a universe created by way of God can in trouble-free terms be via fact God needs it. If God does not opt for you to have cornflakes for breakfast the following day, then he would have general this whilst He created the universe and created it in the variety of way which you: ran out of cornflakes in the present day, cornflakes have been in no way invented, you stumble on mouse dropping in the cornflakes, or regardless of ineffable way that God needs to act. via fact God is accustomed to precisely how any universe He creates will pan out, and because he can create any universe at all of the only logical end is that each little thing that occurs is strictly what God needs to take place. So, each volcano that erupts, overlaying human beings in lava, each hurricane, each tornado, each baby that gets contaminated with a parasite which will lead them to pass blind - those are all precisely what God needs to take place, in any different case he would have created the universe in a distinctive way. yet, God loves everybody. So how ought to he create a universe the place harmless toddlers go through and die? this would properly be a paradox. An impossible concern based on the Christian definition of God. the answer to it is somewhat trouble-free. The Christian God does not exist and did no longer create the universe. QED there is not any God.
