Did you seriously think that you would find the answer to the meaning of life on Yahoo Answers? Don't get me wrong, I know that it is possible to find answers in unlikely places, but did you honestly think that you would read someones answer and be like, "YES! That's it! I finally found the answer!!"
I have an idea, why don't you tell me what the point of life is. You have just as much chance of being right as I do.
Please, do not misunderstand me here. This is not about you specifically. It just ticks me off that everyone is looking for an answer that, quite simply, is non-existent.
If knowing what the point of life is means that much to you, then why don't you and the other 6 billion+ humans on the planet stop asking the question and try to find out for yourselves.
I mean, Jeebus Cripes, Is it really that important anyway? Is knowing the meaning of life going to really change anything you do? Is it going to make the world a better place? The answer is NO. The only thing that will change is that you know. You will still have to go about your life and you will still have to make the same decisions. Knowing and DOING are very different things.
With all that said, I hope that you find whatever it is that you are looking for but I fear that you will be disappointed yet again because you have failed to look in the one place that matters.

The age old question that can freak you out if you let it....
Yes, it all just ends eventually, but life is a gift and you can either treasure that gift or throw it away. Who knows what the point is? It's the question we all have to answer for ourselves in our own way. For some it's about God, for others it's fun and games, for others it's about drugs and sex. Personally, I think that life is about searching for answers. That's why we are constantly questioning. And yes, there is pain and conflict and drama, but there's beauty and love and the miracle of birth and the breathtaking views and the amazing things we have done with our minds. So you can look at it negatively: life's a ***** and then you die. Or you can look at it positively: life's a fulfilling journey and then you die and maybe, just maybe there's something grand beyond that.

I think life is its own point. For some reason I think it's important to be absolutely aware of life's instances &, for me, the more deeply I can grasp that what's happening is really happening the deeper I can grasp it again. The world in a grain of sand and all that just so at as much real as i can stand the next moment can be random, midnight cheese burgers so I don't have to think anymore, just carry out the plan. Get cheeseburgers, yea I know what time it is, got plenty of time now we need cheese. Cheeseburgers are definitely worth it.
Ironically cheeseburgers will probably finish me off but that's good too.

The romans said that a man would never die as long as his name was never forgotten. The taoists said that seeking fame is useless, and only brings heartbreak. Instead seeking harmony and peaceful disposition is an ultimate goal.
These two extremes represent two different meanings of life. Neither can really be considered to be incorrect. However they aren't the only examples of this point. The answers you have already received stem from puppies and babies to live till ya die, even the commentary of one very angry emo-pants. The one answer I truly agree with, at least in the beginning, was that you have to live your life before you can find the answer to it. It's kinda one of those things that develop over time.

No one knows the answer to that question. That is a very good question. I think the point of life is to live and learn. The more I read this question the harder it seems to answer it. If you are bored than get out and do something.....if that comes off mean I don't mean for it to. I am sorry , but I can't tell you the answer to that question. It really makes you think why are we here.

You were born. Good start.
Experiences. There is no real point, or goal to this planet. Its an open ended MMORPG that has no end. Being happy, having adventures, kicking ***, these are all great experiences. Giving all that we have, and being happy.
What more can you really do, then give it everything you got?
(Global warming is junk science btw)

its the little things
have you ever...
ever see a baby laugh
ever come home to a puppy that was really happy to see you
ever stood under a giant waterfall
its not just the start to the finish its the things in between that make up this crazy thing we call life
all the good comes wiht all the bad
that is the ballence of it all,
would we even know something was good if we never experienced something bad ?
you can't see the tree because you are looking at the forest

Read "Mans Search For Meaning' by Victor E. Frankl. i'll even take the time to dig it up for you and find the quote he siad in it. hold on a sec.... ok found it. here's what he says:
"I wish to stress the true meaning of life is to be discovered in the world rather than within man or his own psyche. The meaning of life is always changing, but it never ceases to be. According to logotherapy (his philosophy), we can discover this meaning in three different ways. 1. by creating work or doing a deed. 2. By experiencing something or encountering someone. 3. By the attitude we take toward unavoidable suffering."

There is old zen story.
Imagine you're hanging from a cliff. There are hungry tigers above you and hungry tigers waiting below. Before you, you see a wild strawberry growing from the cliff. Take the strawberry. Bite into it and savor its sweetness.
Everything, pain and pleasure are all ephemeral. But we should enjoy what we can. After all, as you've pointed out, what else is there?
