I think critical thinking/ logic skills are learned habits of mind for both genders and believe that one gender is not more capable of using these higher levels of thinking than another, so I wouldn't classify thinking with reason or logic as a masculine or feminine trait

"Our two minds .... One is an act of the emotional
mind, the other of the rational mind. In a very real
sense we have two minds, one that thinks and one that
feels" (Daniel Goleman, Emotional Intelligence,
Bloomsbury Publishing, London, 1996, page 8). This
rational mind is also called the faculty of logic and
reason.

The Upanishads say that these two are opposite in
nature. Modern psychologist also have observed it,
but they are not very sure about it:

"At the same time, reason sometimes clearly seems
to come into conflict with some desires (even
while not being in conflict with others) giving us
the impression that reason is separate from
emotion".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reason

The Upanishads call the emotional component of mind as
Chitta and the rational component of mind as Manas. The
nature of Manas changes with each and every perception
and it's understanding. Manas represents the
intellignce of a person. In general, women excell in
Chitta and men excell in Manas. Men have the ability to
transcend the limitations of Manas and activate the
higher component of mind Buddhi (intellect or wisdom)
which deals with deliberation of the pros and cons
using discrimination after considering what is
emotional and what is rational. It overcomes the
limitations of logic and reasoning.

Philosophy is hard wired into the brain. We all use it whether we think about it in formal terms or not. Epistemology is turned on at birth, when it begins to attempt to identify its environment, including those "things" that he does not know are nurses and parents. Epistemology builds the metaphysical hierarchy one lives with.
We think and speak in syllogisms. Syllogisms are the logic of language. Without logic there would be no syllogisms, and therefore no more language would exists than the grunts and groans of the first men who had to find words for the things they discovered.
Reason is the choosing of the logic you find the most credible.
The animal "Homo" is defined as "the rational animal."
Women are of the species Homo. Men are of the species Homo. Logic and reasoning belong to both.

I suppose I would say it is more of a masculine quality.

Men tend to be more concerned with practicality.
Women then to be more concerned with aesthetics.

Not that that is a rule, just my observation.
