43 years big. not a navy fan but the game was very cool and an end to a very long winning streak against a single opponent.

Huge to the people of navy, consdering there was a 43 year long streak of them losing to Notre Dame.
But not very impressive when Notre Dame is 1 and 8 now... They're having a horrible season. Who would of guessed.

I am a lifelong Notre Dame fan , however I served 4 yrs in the USN , so I root for them too , But usually I still prefer ND when they play one another. It was tough to watch because as much as I wanted Navy to end the streak , I hated to see ND really hit rock bottom . But towards the end , I was fully behind Navy and cursing that fat slob Weis. He really is incompetent

The Superintendent here at the Academy gave us extra liberty on Sunday and canceled classes on Monday. Therefore, I'd say it was a pretty decent victory!
There was a ridiculous pep rally that night as the football team arrived back onto the yard in their buses. The Superintendent crowd surfed from the buses, across T Court, and up to a microphone where he told us what he was going to grant because of the win.
I couldn't be more excited that I got to be a part of this, I'll never forget it.

They play every yr, and this yr was the first time they beat them since 1963. It was 46 Navy 44 Notre Dame, and went into triple overtime!

It wasn't. Notre Dame sucks this year, nothing big about another team beating them. Its just like Kansas whooping Nebraska, Nebraska sucks even though this is the first year in the last 30 that Kansas was higher ranked then Nebraska.

I am not a Navy fan (I am actually still a bitter Pitt fan), but man.....how exciting would it be to be a Navy fan this year. Three overtime games! Not to mention the end of a 40 year losing streak to ND!

What a game!!! It is great for Navy and not good for ND.
I believe the streak would have ended sooner or later anyway.
But considering how down ND is this year, it would have been something positive for them this season, you know.
