I just got XM Radio, but can't use it until I can get my cig. lighter to power.
The fuse was blown and I fixed that, but still it's getting no power.
The car is a 00' Mercury Cougar with "smokers package" if that helps at all.

You, or someone else probably burnt out the element in the cigarette lighter. go to auto zone, or equivalent auto parts store and purchase another one. it should be easy to replace. you may have to take apart part of the dash/trim/etc to reach it correctly. also, while you are under the dash, check the wires and ensure that they are connected properly.

the cegarette lighter element could be burnt out pop the old one out and pop a new one in ,you may have to change the handle over from the old one to the new ,they screw of.
one of the two leads may be broken or unpluged, one is ground the other is hot.

replace the plug in part you can get one at any store the sells parts for like 10 bucks and are easy to do just look at walmart or go to auto zone and look

can check the fuse of lighter before buying new one
