microsoft 360 help?

Question 1-

Does it matter if you use a Microsoft brand wireless adapter on an xbox 360?

I've heard multiple answers(i will list below)from different people and i wanted to know alot more peoples advice.

A guy who works at gamestop said- you need to use the Microsoft brand, I've tried alot of other brands and they didn't work.

A guy at radioshack said- it doesn't matter

Question 2-
Are their censers that since the temperature in the 360, and if so if they get changed(like by using a fan) will it void the warranty?

1. I heard that some wireless units work, but the MS one works best, also I heard the original Xbox wifi works too.

2. There is no gauge to tell you temperature. Getting a fan that uses its own power source does not void the warranty, but getting one that uses the 360's, will.
