Hello i have a 94 Camaro Z28 And when im driving around and stuff i go home and i can smell coolant from my car so i look at it and i pull out the oil fill cap and smoke comes out of it. and today water was on the cap, im hoping this is condensation. Anyways I also hear some gurgling noise by the firewall. Maybe the heater core? I dont hear anything from the radiator. Also when im driving around my car runs at a temperature below half and when im done driving the back of the engine feels extremly hottt u can hear is popping from the heat of it, but the front is not even that hot. The radiator cap isnt even hott to the touch. Also smoke comes out of the back of the engine smelling like coolant. So do you think i possibly have a messed up heater corE? Also What explains the smoke from the oil fill. and the excessive heat? Thanks:D

smoke from oil fill hole is caused by blow by...[ compression pressure pushing by & around worn piston ring,s]...this increases crankcase pressure to the point where the p.c.v. system is overwhelmed.....excessive heat is probably caused by faulty thermostat or defective water pump.....gurgling noise is coolant exceeding boiling point or excess air traped in system.....advise...have cooling system pressure tested, change thermostat, check water pump for flow, have a compression &cylinder leak down test,s performed......check for defective coolant sensor.....evaluate...may be time for new/rebuilt engine.......good luck!

Head gaskets come to mind. You might have a blowout in the rear cylinders to the piston side rather than the outside. The coolant is contained mostly but some steam gets out, but the exhaust is blowing into the valve covers and that part of the engine is hotter than the rest. Not common, but not so rare either. Improper torque on a head bolt or just a crappy factory gasket will do it. There will be some coolant leakage in any head gasket blowout and it will become worse. Check the tailpipe for coolant drips when you shut down. The heater core will make a puddle on the passenger side rug. V-6? or 350? Makes a big difference in the fix.

Sound to me like you got a bad head gasket,
If you got a lot of miles on it just replace the engine. doing the head gaskets is just a waste of money.
