Very useful as it opens up doors that would be closed to you otherwise. MBA programs vary. Some schools may not do a good job at preparing their MBA students. In the MBA program, you go through a different style of learning and thinking and the pace in much faster. You will cover materials not found at the undergraduate level and you can specialize a lot more and choose or create your major. Good employers will recognize your degree, while others won't because they either do not recognize its value or the job doesn't require specialized training.

Not all MBA programs are the same. If you are accepted to a Top 15 business school, good. If not, examine your program and try to supplement it.

It depends where you get your MBA. If you go to a top program, you can write your own ticket & go into almost any field -- making a six figure salary.

If you go to a ranked program not in the top 15, lots of doors will be open to you. You will get a nice bump in salary and can go into a number of different fields.

If you get an MBA from an unranked school, then it won't help you get a new job all than much, and the bump in pay you will get won't cover the cost of getting the degree.

It's totally dependent on the ranking of your school and the background you had to get into it. If you're in a top 20 program and you went in with 2-3 years of great work experience you'll have all kinds of people knocking on your door.
Otherwise it might be more of what you get out of it in terms fo learning and personal satisfaction.
