what is the game about...what makes it so popular?

I started reading the books before I actually got into the game. I was SO intreaged by how the story was fluid and kept a sense of humanity and loss in the books that I had to get the game. Once I got the game and started playing, I got wrapped up in the additional storyline that was the game....and just when I thought it was done. I got XBL and then seriously got sucked into the online play. Granted it was the first Online play i had but it was great just the same. I finished H3 the day before it was released. It was ok as far as story but the gameplay was great and now the online battles are tremendosly addicting. If you like Sci-fi books read the first Halo book called First Strike, it will explain to you why the Covanent arrived and what they did, as well as what we did to keep ourselves alive.

Well what i think makes halo so popular is the fact that the game play is amazing the online is fun, it fast and it does things better than most shooters, and the game it self differs from the books basically the story is that the covenant(aliens) wants to activate the halo rings which will destroy life and everything as we know it so they can complete there great journey an well you have to take the role of Master chief and stop them

Well.... for one Halo is just awesome lol. Its pretty much about killing aliens. but the thing that set halo off from all the other games is the multiplayer without that halo would probably just be another shooter.

because its got very smooth controls, get vehicules, and awesome intense action also because evr since halo 1 it grabed the audiences atention and became awesome and halo 2 has 1 of the greatest multiplayer system ever!

Porque es un juego en linea , creo yo, o especúlo ya que se puso como de "moda" algo futurista... talvez eso
