I have these recurring nightmares that happen about 1-3 times a year. I've had them for as long as I can remember, and they are always identical, except for physical experiences. All the characters in my dream have aged as I have. These nightmares terrify me, I wake up in a sweat, and I'm not sure if I cry during my dream or as soon as I wake up, but I sob from fear every time I have them.

I can't remember much from them, when I try to explain it. I remember that my mom and I are sitting around in a room, something happens and my mom calls the police, but when she does it I get a bad feeling. Then I go outside and there's a woman sitting in a car, and it turns out my moms a bad guy, and the phone doesn't work, and I can't get help. If I had a bad relationship with my mom, it might make more sense, but we're best friends, probably the most like Lorelie and Rory Gilmore you can find.

I have no idea why i get these dreams, but I want them to stop. These are the ones I cant ignore...

It's ok. You're not really dreaming about your mom.

The dream is about some aspect of your environment or your life that you think you should be able to count on, but you can't. The broken phone means you feel powerless to get help to do anything about this problem.

well i can say that i have the same thing happen to me. i am not sure why. i had 3 dreams that i would have a few times in a year. they never really changed though. i think that everyone stayed the same age as when it first started though. not to sure on it. the one that i remember is my family is sitting at home and someone tries to get into our house. some guy outside with a shotgun. he tries all the windows and everything. then goes to the door and knocks and my sister opens it and the guy comes in and everyone dies. yeah it's a crazy dream. i had this dream about 3 times a year for a few years. then finally it just stopped. i can't tell you why you are having them, but i have had the same thing happen to me. to me it's a dream that happened once that was so horrific that i could never forget it. like i could remember every second of the dream and tell you what happened. i think that since it was so horrific it stayed in the back of my mind and that's why i would keep dreaming it. hope that helps.

Many things are to be considered when dealing with a dream, but from my experiences, a recurring dream symbolizes a point in your mental development “or process” being hindered. You must figure out what it is that your mind is trying to process, but can’t. In order to do that, you need to analyze every aspect and get its true meaning.

My conclusion: It sounds to me like your mother symbolizes some one else; someone like a mother? And there is also a great sense of betrayal and deceit. Hitting any bells? You might want to look into anyone in your past that you may have relied on greatly; and has either let you down, or deliberately betrayed you.
