Federal rights and Constitution?

can anyone help give me a thesis on federal and state rights + constitution? I n eed to show if the const. was good or not, we used it for 200 years, vs. we ameneded it and fixed it so many times and civil war was because of the 10 th amendment

The 10th amendment did NOT cause the civil war. I strongly suggest you look at history MUCH harder. The civil war was purely an economic move. It wasn't even truly about slavery - although slavery played into the economics of it.
Quite frankly, I think you should look at the role economics has played in the evolution of our country, and the relationships between the States and Federal Government. It is very interesting, and there is a wealth of information. My particular area of interest is in Intellectual Property and Antitrust legislation, which is directly tied to the 1st Amendment.

We are a country today because of the Constitution. Without it, there would be no United States. We are able to amend it because that was a provision written into it at its inception. The two statements, that we used it for 200+ years, and that we amended it, are not dichotomies. We amended it in the course of using it; that's how it was designed.

The 10th Amendment was the excuse for Secession, not the cause of the war. Antipathy to that interpretation was the cause of the war, not the Amendment, itself.

Do a search on the constitution and look up some history Personally I think it is one of the best and most important documents ever written and the fact that we can amend it as needed or not.

The 10th amendment was used by the South as a reason to leave the union. It did not cause the civil war.

The ability to amend the Consitution is what makes it a great document...the founding fathers understood that the ideas of limited government would expand/change as times changed
