It depends where you get your MBA. If you go to a top program, you can write your own ticket & go into almost any field -- making a six figure salary. The link below shows the kinds of companies that recruit at top B-Schools.

If you go to a ranked program not in the top 15, lots of doors will be open to you. You will get a nice bump in salary and can go into a number of different fields.

If you get an MBA from an unranked school, then it won't help you get a new job all than much, and the bump in pay you will get won't cover the cost of getting the degree.
